What is Feedase and why is it different from an ordinary enzyme?
Traditional NSP enzymes are designed to break down specific anti-nutritional factors — xylanase for wheat, glucanase for barley. Feedase is a new-generation concept: an enzyme that improves the digestibility of all nutrients — starch, protein, fat and minerals — regardless of the feed's raw-material composition.
Rovabio® Advance is the only EU-approved feedase. The key lies in the arabinofuranosidases (ABF) — unique debranching enzymes that remove the side branches from complex fibres, giving the xylanases full access to the fibre backbone. The result: significantly greater release of energy and nutrients from the same amount of feed.
- Targeted at a specific raw material
- Different dose for different formulations
- NSP breakdown only
- Matrix for ME and AA only
- Works with all raw materials and formulations
- 1 dosage for everything (50 g/t)
- NSP + starch + protein + fat
- Full matrix: ME + AA + P + Ca
Why are NSP enzymes essential for poultry and pigs?
Many cereal raw materials contain soluble NSP that increase the viscosity of the intestinal contents in monogastric animals — a direct effect: reduced digestibility, poorer gut health, higher ammonia concentration in poultry houses. Rovabio® breaks down these NSP, lowers viscosity and gives the animal's own enzymes access to starch, protein and fat so they are fully digested.
All Rovabio® products use 19 enzymes produced from a single non-GMO fungal strain — Talaromyces versatilis. This means the enzymes are naturally compatible with each other and act synergistically, unlike artificially blended enzyme cocktails.
